Happy Halloween...and "Go Beavs!" ?!?!?

Halloween was a busy day for the Wilds. The little cheerleader had a party at daycare and later went trick-or-treating with mom, the Eidsons (K -didn't get a picture of MJ with D. Crockett!), and Uncle Kevin and Aunt Lindsey. Dad was on call and had an interview dinner and reception to attend. The concept of trick-or-treating didn't quite click...but peanut had loads of fun charging up the walkways to different people's doors. The night wasn't complete without a quick ride on the "horse" and a big kiss to duck!

Fall has arrived in Texas

Well, it's finally starting to cool down! It's been a busy last few months. Madison has started going to First Baptist daycare. She's adapted really well and loves playing with all of her friends! Of course, Emma is still right at the top (as you can see from the pictures). Jeff's job is as busy as ever and Allison continues to work part-time in Waco. Stay tuned for Halloween pictures!

Happy Birthday Madison!

On August 15, Madison officially became a one-year old! We celebrated with a birthday party for friends and family on August 9th. As you can see, peanut was quite happy with her cake and presents!

Mischief !!

I decided to follow this little one around with a camera just to get an idea of how much trouble she can find. These pictures don't even BEGIN to tell the whole story. There were about 15-20 more incidences that weren't recorded. The worst part? She thinks it's funny when I catch her doing something that she's starting to realize is wrong. I don't think this is going to get any easier!

Then and now....11 months!

It's hard to believe that this is the same baby! Here's Madison at about 11 days ... and then 11 months. She's getting geared up for some college football (aren't we all?!). Go Badgers! On a different note, you can see that peanut likes to walk with her right arm straight out ahead of her, and her left arm up in the arm. We call her "Franken-baby" - cute as ever!

Fourth of July

It's official - the baby girl is walking! This had made for some interesting and unfortunate experiences....right after taking the top two pictures, Madison fell head first onto the wooden bed frame and got quite a goose egg. She has several "black and blue" marks from her learning adventures...doesn't keep her down for long!

The highlight of our 4th of July celebration was a BBQ dinner with the Castleberry family. As you can see, everyone gets along quite well! Emma is Madison's best big girl friend - Peanut always puts on a smile for Emma. Emma has taught Madison all sorts of things...how to squeal and laugh, how to eat like a cajun, and most importantly how to take a good long nap after playing hard. Madison loves Andrew as well - he is her biggest supporter and tries to explain how to crawl, walk, and play with her toys. He even picked her up and walked with her today - not a small feat, even for grown-ups! No fireworks for the Wild bunch this year; maybe next year we can keep Peanut up that late!

Peanut's antics at 10 months

This little one is doing new things every day! She's drinking everything from a sippy cup, crawls everywhere, walks with her lion walker, pulls up on everything and is starting to walk on her own! No pictures of that yet...she falls too quickly! Every now and then she slows down enough to read through her books (after, of course, pulling several of them off of the bookshelf!). She keeps us busy!

He's one lucky puppy!

I found this little guy one morning on the way to work. He was hunched over on the side of the freeway. Left leg: broken femur, tibia and fibula (all three long bones of the leg). Right leg: broken metatarsals (foot bones). Oh, and a broken pelvis. Temperatures exceeded 95 degrees that day - his chances of survival would have been slim. Radiographs showed small rocks in his intestinal tract - he was eating gravel. The patch on his side is a fentanyl patch - strong pain medication. This trooper had surgery to fix the fractures in his left leg. He's staying with us during the post-op rest period. Madison loves him, but we're a kitty house - we're working on finding him a loving home.

Allison turns 33!

Celebrated being 33 with our neighbors Kristy, Leigh and Jack - they brought the amazing blueberry pie! Madison thought the trick candles were hysterical; she laughed every time they lit up again! Thirty-two was a busy year; highlighted by the addition of Madison in August 2007...we'll see what 33 has to bring.

Surgery Residency Graduation Banquet

This is our one "formal event" of the year. Eventually we'll be celebrating Jeff's graduation....3 more years! Here's a picture of the now 3rd year general surgery residents - clockwise from top left: Drs. Lewis, Isbell, Eidson, Brocker and Wild.

Swimming Lessons

I thought it would be fun to do "Aqua Babies" with Madison (aka Peanut). The weather has been in the 90's for the past few weeks - perfect for outdoor swimming! Madison both loved and hated the class at different times. Overall a success - we made some new friends and Peanut graduated to "Aqua Tots" which she'll take next summer. She even went off the diving board - I lowered her down to the instructor. Daddy was able to come and see his little girl swim - we had a good time!
