Peanut's antics at 10 months

This little one is doing new things every day! She's drinking everything from a sippy cup, crawls everywhere, walks with her lion walker, pulls up on everything and is starting to walk on her own! No pictures of that yet...she falls too quickly! Every now and then she slows down enough to read through her books (after, of course, pulling several of them off of the bookshelf!). She keeps us busy!

He's one lucky puppy!

I found this little guy one morning on the way to work. He was hunched over on the side of the freeway. Left leg: broken femur, tibia and fibula (all three long bones of the leg). Right leg: broken metatarsals (foot bones). Oh, and a broken pelvis. Temperatures exceeded 95 degrees that day - his chances of survival would have been slim. Radiographs showed small rocks in his intestinal tract - he was eating gravel. The patch on his side is a fentanyl patch - strong pain medication. This trooper had surgery to fix the fractures in his left leg. He's staying with us during the post-op rest period. Madison loves him, but we're a kitty house - we're working on finding him a loving home.

Allison turns 33!

Celebrated being 33 with our neighbors Kristy, Leigh and Jack - they brought the amazing blueberry pie! Madison thought the trick candles were hysterical; she laughed every time they lit up again! Thirty-two was a busy year; highlighted by the addition of Madison in August 2007...we'll see what 33 has to bring.

Surgery Residency Graduation Banquet

This is our one "formal event" of the year. Eventually we'll be celebrating Jeff's graduation....3 more years! Here's a picture of the now 3rd year general surgery residents - clockwise from top left: Drs. Lewis, Isbell, Eidson, Brocker and Wild.

Swimming Lessons

I thought it would be fun to do "Aqua Babies" with Madison (aka Peanut). The weather has been in the 90's for the past few weeks - perfect for outdoor swimming! Madison both loved and hated the class at different times. Overall a success - we made some new friends and Peanut graduated to "Aqua Tots" which she'll take next summer. She even went off the diving board - I lowered her down to the instructor. Daddy was able to come and see his little girl swim - we had a good time!
